The British Business Bank brings expertise and Government money to smaller business finance markets.

Business Growth Fund
Established in 2011 to help Britain's growing smaller and medium sized businesses. Backed by five of the UK's main banking groups - Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS and Standard Chartered - they are an independent company with up to £2.5bn with which to make long-term equity investments.

The Greater Manchester Investment Fund
Offers flexible loans and equity investments of between £0.5m and £5m at commercial rates. Applicants need to provide additional funding from the private sector. The fund is managed by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to encourage business growth and job creation in Greater Manchester.

The Greater Manchester Loan Fund provides finance of between £100,000 and £500,000 to growth focused businesses in the Greater Manchester region.

Greater Manchester Export Fund (supported through Regional Growth Funding)
Manchester Growth Company is welcoming applications for its £9.5m export fund. The fund aims to increase export sales of new and existing exporters through targeted financial support from grant and loan funding. The GM Loan Fund also provides short-term loans of up to £500,000 to enable small and medium businesses fulfil export orders and is targeted at those which cannot access export finance from other sources.

Greater Manchester Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (GM AGE)
GM AGE is a grant of £1,500 for companies who haven’t employed an apprentice in the last 12 months and replaces the national AGE grant for GM Employers. To qualify, companies must have under 250 employees, appoint an apprentice aged between 16 and 24 and employ them in a Greater Manchester workplace for a minimum of 12 months or the time it takes them to complete the apprenticeship.
Employers can also apply for additional incentives worth £1,000 if their apprentice is progressing from a completed Traineeship to an Apprenticeship and then progresses to a Higher Apprenticeship. If criteria for all elements are met, you may be eligible for a total grant of up to £3,500. Funds are available on a first come first served basis until 31st December 2016.

Creative Industry Finance
The programme assists creative businesses to access finance from a specially selected group of lenders based in England and delivers expert advice and access to free business support.
The North West Fund for Digital & Creative
Provides a flexible equity package for growth oriented businesses operating within the Digital & Creative sector offering finance from £50,000 to £2m to businesses and in return, the Fund Manager will require an equity share in the business. Capital structures can include a combination of equity and loan support to suit the needs of the company.

Investments of £50,000 to £200,000 matched 50/50 by funding from the applicant company. Various funds are available including investment in small or medium enterprises (SME’s) who are in an advanced stage of developing and commercialising digital products for the healthcare sector. Each investment will be made on commercial terms as either a revenue share, business loan or equity investment.
