Local SMEs to benefit from government’s Help to Grow: Management course
Bolton small to medium-sized businesses can benefit from the Government-funded Help to Grow: Management programme due to start on the 29th November 2022 at Bolton Arena.
Help to Grow: Management is a 12-week executive development programme delivered by enterprise experts from Manchester Metropolitan University’s Centre for Enterprise, accredited to the Small Business Charter.
The programme aims to help local SME leaders develop a tailored growth plan and consists of five in-person workshops, seven online sessions and one-to-one tailored support from a business mentor.
Bolton SME Beyond Profit Limited recently completed the programme and redeveloped their growth strategy that better aligns with their company values. Emma Willder, Managing Director of Beyond Profit says: “I wanted to grow Beyond Profit, but I needed some support to develop a strategy to do this. For me, meeting other people in the same situation and having that peer support has been huge”. Emma adds that while other people in her cohort were working in different industries, this added value in that it “brought fresh perspectives to each other’s businesses”.
The Help to Grow programme is designed to:
- Enhance your ability to lead the growth of your business
- Produce a growth plan to achieve your business’s potential
- Build resilience to future shocks
- Learn how to innovate in your business
- Improve employee engagement and responsible business practices
The 12-week programme is 90% government-funded, so costs only £750 and includes:
- Five modules delivered in-person
- Seven sessions delivered online
- 50 hours of in-depth training
- 1:1 business mentoring
The course is aimed at senior leaders of small and medium size businesses that have been trading for over one year with between 5 and 249 employees.
